DJ Binns, Reporter

Freshman DJ Binns is new to The Bell staff, Liberty High School, and the world of taking all advanced courses. For many people Binns’ circumstance would be too overwhelming, however she only sees it as more opportunities to challenge herself. Binn is making an intentional effort this school year to be both a student and a person that exceeds expectations.

“Last year I wasn’t working my hardest. I had one advanced class. In most of my classes I was only going along, and just doing what was necessary; nothing more, nothing less until I got bored and took an advanced class. But I was still bored, so this year I decided to do all advanced classes and see how hard I can work myself!”

Aside from setting goals and achieving them; Binns plans to read, write, and watch an abundance of anime or fantasy tv shows. Some of her favorite shows are Once Upon a Time, Supernatural, and ShadowHunters. But if anyone asks her what her favorite anime is, she will quickly inform them that most true fanatics can’t just pick one.

“There is just too much to pick from,”  Binns said “If I had to answer, Black Butler is  probably my first choice.”  Binns also enjoys hanging with friends; their favorite pastimes together are going to the park, having a girl talk, and watching tv.

In the future, Binns wants to go to college and possibly major in something regarding music. Although she doesn’t know where she wants to go to school yet, or what she wants to major in. Binns is positive that music and college is right for her.

“The only goals that have stuck with me for a long time is singing and college. As weird as it sounds, I love singing. I used to want to have some sort of singing career. I am not in choir right now, however, I have always wanted to do something involving music.”
