Katie DeClue is a senior this year at Liberty High School. Katie is passionate about many things, but especially Debate and Forensics. “I really love competing and going to tournaments and arguing different cases,” Senior Katie DeClue said. During her first year on Varsity, she made it to conference. “I did poetry, and there were only two poetry people. There’s National Forensics League districts and MSHAA Districts,” DeClue said. “If you qualify for that then you get to go to state.” Following conference, DeClue almost went to Districts. She had never done anything that big before and it was very intimidating. Even though she did not make it to districts, she still kept a positive attitude. “Knowing that I was eligible for it was really cool,” DeClue said.  She hopes that senior year will bring new challenges and successes. DeClue also enjoys reading and taking photos, and wants to pursue a career in writing.
