It was all a blur, guys and girls running around hitting the volleyball back and forth. In the competitive sport of volleyball intramural there are seven teams battling for the championship. The teams are, the Shooters, Notorious DIG, Orange J’s, OMG I, and the North Compton Wildcats. Last year the North Compton Wildcats won the entire thing.
“Each year there is a faculty team and it is fun to play against the students,” EIP Program teacher Tara Harvey said.
There are two faculty teams this year. One team is in it for fun volleyball experience, while the other is in it to win it. Most of the student teams are going for the gold.
“This is serious. We are going to go all the way, and be undefeated,” senior Jordan O’Boyle said. O’Boyle plays on the team called Shooters.
“It is a recreational league for kids to have fun that are not involved in a fall sport,” Harvey said.
This club is a mix of boys and girls. It does not matter what age you are, you can be a sophomore, junior or senior. To be in this club you do not have to have any skill level at all.
Even if you do not have a team come out and talk to Harvey to see if you can join a team.
If anyone is still interested in playing in the league, get six players and e-mail Harvey at [email protected] with a team or for more questions.
“It is a good activity to meet new people since Liberty is big school,” Harvey said.
