Senior Katie Moon is going places and she knows exactly where. Full of creativity, ideas and talent, Moon has been unstoppable ever since she started dance at the age of three. Moon can often be found at her new dance studio, CODE, practicing all sorts of dance styles from lyrical to jazz and hip-hop to tap. Before starting at CODE, Moon spent 12 years at a different dance studio – Elite Dance Company. Moon, in the past, has also been an LHS Sapphire. Aside from dancing, Moon enjoys getting a different kind of workout by running – that is, in the very little free time that she has because of all of her other talents. Moon is also on the LHS Bell newspaper staff as the section editor of the spotlights section. Moon has been a writer since a young age and has always enjoyed it. This is Moon’s second year on staff, and she has flourished as a writer since the beginning. It is clear that Moon will continue to flourish even after high school.
“I’m going to Missouri State and I’ll be in the hospitality and event planning degree. Out of college, I want to go on a cruise ship and work at either the front desk or work on planning events for the ship,” Moon said. “I will do that for a couple years while I’m still young. After that, I’m going to hopefully go work for some sort of wedding planning company, then work my way up to eventually owning one.”
Moon has her future planned out. As for the present, she has impressed everyone with her knack for creative arts. It is clear that this year is bound to be full of triumph and excitement for Moon and all of those who know her.
