Celeste Lehnardt

Celeste Lehnardt, Reporter

Freshmen Celeste Lehnardt is ready to tackle the 2017-2018 school year, both academically and socially. She is a part of several activates in the school, such as rugby, symphonic orchestra, and newspaper.

She has very high aspirations for after high school and they relate to why she joined newspaper.

“I want to be an author and an editor so I thought newspaper would be a great opportunity,” Lehnardt said.

She is very passionate about writing and hopes to further her knowledge of reporting.

“My mom was actually on her newspaper staff in college and high school,” Lehnardt said. “and she said it was really fun.”

She is also first violin, first chair in symphonic orchestra and is excited to have placed so well.

“I really was not expecting it,” Lehnardt said. “I thought the audition was so bad, but I’m happy with the outcome.”

She is also set to play rugby this fall. She said her friend talked her into it and it had sounded fun but she was a little scared. She has expressed concern at the idea of being tackled on the field and is concerned about getting injured.

“The idea of getting to tackle somebody else and learning how to tackle is actually pretty exciting,” Lehnardt said.

When she is not plucking strings or out on the field she is hanging out with her friends and reading.  She would describe herself as quiet to people who do not know her, but loud and weird to her close friend and family.

“My friends know that I’m kind of loud and slightly annoying,” Lehnardt said, “I just really like to have fun and sometimes I’m a little loud, but that’s who I am.”
