Senior Caty Franklin has been on staff for three years and joined this class for a creative outlet. Little did Franklin know she would make it far in the class.

“This year I am Managing Editor, A&E Section Editor, Copy Editor and CO-Social Media Manager,” Franklin said.

As Franklin progressed through Newspaper, she was able to learn more about journalism and discover her love for journalistic writing. Franklin not only enjoys writing, but she has found a passion for designing and editing.

“I think that it’s so important that everyone has news that is easy to understand and easy to find,” Franklin said. I sometimes get really bogged down with trying to find reliable news and accurate news. That’s the overall mission of The Bell.”

Outside of Newspaper Franklin is involved in Spanish Honors Society, Spanish V, National Honor Society and she volunteers at her church. Even though Franklin doesn’t plan on studying journalism in college, she has a bright future ahead of her.

“I plan on majoring in biochemistry and maybe with the pre-pharmacy track,” Franklin said. “I’m kind of thinking Creighton or Missouri University for colleges. I’m really passionate about Spanish as well, so I plan on minoring in it.”
