Freshman Lucy Boyle, Reporter

For Freshman Lucy Boyle watching Rory in “Gilmore Girls” mixed with her love of writing fueled her to join The Bell and continue her love for informative and opinion writing.

“I really like informative or opinion writing,” Boyle said, “I like opinion that's really something I lean towards to when I'm writing because it's fun.”

As for Boyle’s hobbies, “last year, I did track and cross country, but this year I decided not to because it’s a lot and it was very difficult,” Boyle explained, “I'm okay at running but I'm not extremely amazing at running so I feel like doing high school cross country and high school track would be a little too hard.”

When it comes to style, Boyle likes to go traditional.

“I wear casual clothes because I like wearing tennis shoes and jeans. That's my favorite thing to wear and then t-shirts.”

With Boyle’s family, traditions are a must.

“Every year once school ends, I have a big family I have 20 something cousins on just one side, but every year we go to California,” Boyle says, “my family we stay at this really cool hotel right by the beach, so it's kind of a tradition because we go every year.”

Writing has always been a strong suit for Boyle.

“I remember I read so slow when I was in 5th grade I got a 2 on a reading assessment, and in letters would be a D, so I struggle with reading, but I love writing.”

For Boyle journalism is a need to inform the world.

“I think it's cool because you get to influence people not necessarily their opinions, but influence the way people think and how they're informed.”

Boyle is excited to start her journey on The Bell and ready to stun readers with her informative and opinionated pieces.
