The iOS Makeover

All of the people at LHS who have iPhones, iPod Touches, iPads, etc. know it’s time for a new update from Apple and that update is the iOS7.

The new iOS7 update makes the things easier, faster and more enjoyable. While many apps look different, the way users do things feel familiar. It also comes with a new, improved updated look, and new features like Control Center and AirDrop.

What’s my opinion about the new iOS7 update? Well honestly I’m in the middle because I like the whole design of it. I like the iOS6 because when you tap on the app it immediately takes me to that place. While iOS7 it takes a little longer and I’m very impatient sometimes so that doesn’t help.

I’m not a fan of the lock screen, like sometimes I want the password on there so one one would look through it, but most of the time I want to get into their easier and I just don’t like the design of the lock screen. Also, I want my lock screen and my home screen picture different, NOT the same so that’s another thing I don’t like about it.

Some of the pros for the iOS update are that  accessibility is at your fingertips with the new Control Panel, and Multitasking is much smoother. On this upgrade, you can download over free Wi-Fi, a new design and lockscreen. And there are some cons about this new improved update, like sometimes it lags when opening an app, and it runs slowly.

“Some pros are that it’s a great new look it got’s some updated apps that are wonderful,” sophomore Katie Allgier said.

“Definitely it’s really pretty, I like it.” sophomore Shelby Werner said. “I love when you get a background and when you pull up things, the color of it changes with the background. [Cons] I miss how you can scroll to the page, the search part of it you have to scroll up and its like sad.”

“iOS7 because I like it more, it’s a lot more girly.” Allgier said about which iOS update between 6 and 7 was better.“ I think it’s cool, but at the same time it’s kind of bad for guys cause they wouldn’t want to update their phone, but if they didn’t it would slow down eventually. So I’m kind of in the middle.”

“I like iOS7 because it’s easier to use and I also like the design of it, and it’s really cool,” Sophomore Seth Langford said.

While two of the students like the iOS7, sophomore Shelby Werner has a different opinion about it.

“I have different things, but I like iOS6 because if you click on something it doesn’t take a second to pull up, it just pulls up,” Werner said. “And iOS7 It’s like when you turn your phone on it slowly Bright’s up and everything and you have to scroll over and type it in and it lags so much. So personally I like the iOS6.”

Allgier and Werner also shared what they miss about the old update the iOS6.

“I miss how when you get a screen saver you can adjust it.” Werner said “And on iOS7 like if its just a small little square it just pulls it up to the screen and makes it so up close, it’s horrible it has to be perfect fit.”

“I miss that on Safari you can tell how many pages are open, now you can’t and I don’t like that.” Allgier said.

While Langford on the other hand doesn’t miss it so much. “I miss nothing at all. Everything is just there.” Langford said.

And the last thing they shared were some of the features they liked about iOS7. “I like how they have pacific symbols follow the apps and pretty colors.” Allgier said “It has cool colors and I have a lock screen now I didn’t on the last one. And I really like the lock screen.” Langford said “I like how it looks, that’s my main one. But I like how the lock button is.” Werner said.

The iOS7 is also making people sick. Even though Katie Allgier, Shelby Werner, and Seth Langford all said they haven’t gotten sick from it, but many other iPhone users did.

Several iPhone and iPad owners are experiencing motion sickness and even vertigo after downloading the new operating system, according to a couple official and unofficial Apple product forums.
